To Rent or to Own?

In today’s economy, everyone is searching for new and creative ways of making their dollar stretch farther. Although owning a wheelchair accessible van is an empowering and exciting way for a mobility impaired person to regain their independence, it does constitute a major cost. The point of this blog is to inform you that there is another way that one can gain their freedom and independence without having to spend many 10′s of thousands of dollars on purchasing a van and having to absorb all of the “hidden” costs of ownership. Such costs include:
1. Paying interest on your auto loan
2. Insurance costs
3. Preventative and Corrective Maintenance on BOTH the van and the mobility modifications
4. Absorbing the depreciation that is associated with owning a vehicle

When you rent a wheelchair accessible van, I absorb all of the “ownership costs” that accompany owning a wheelchair accessible van. All you have to do is get in and go!

Naturally their exists a usage point where it makes more fiscal sense to buy than to rent. I tell all of my customers that if they envision themselves using a van more than 30% of the time (or 10 days/month) then it makes sense for them to buy. If not, let me take care of the wheelchair van. Give me a buzz at 860.986.7718 or 866.744.VANS (8267) if you live out of state or just want to stick me with the phone charges :)

I hope everyone is doing well out there in cyberspace.
